Services
In person support
Our advocates are able to support you during a meeting, to talk to someone face to face, or in another type of situation where you do not feel you are able to speak up and be heard.
Advice and guidance
If you are unsure about your situation and are not sure what agency to talk to, who can help you, or if your don’t know where to start, speak to our advocates at their weekly clinics in Welcome Bay, Greerton and Pāpāmoa. As we gain more volunteers we will set up more clinics in Tauranga and the WBOP.
Over the phone
If you need help talking to an agency over the phone, making the phone call, or can’t come into a clinic you can call or message us on Whatsapp and we can support you to make the phone call and advocate for you to be heard.
Referral
Sometimes your situation might need more in depth legal advice we can refer you to people who can help.
Right to refuse service
Our Advocacy Service is an important support for members of the community who need to have their voice heard. We welcome applicants to approach us however they do need to appreciate and understand that we are to be treated with respect and in some cases, we may not be able to offer the support that the applicant is seeking. We will tell you if this is the case and where possible suggest other resources that can be accessed.
Aggression and threatening behaviour cannot and will not be tolerated. We are a charity made up of volunteers and moreover, we are human beings. Please be kind as we are towards you.
